A small amount of filler may be resolved in one session, but larger or widely spread filler may require 1–3 sessions spaced 1–2 weeks apart. Individual results may vary.

Is it painful? Do you use anesthesia?

We apply numbing cream for 20–30 minutes before the procedure to reduce discomfort. You may feel a slight sting or pressure during the injection, but most patients tolerate it well.

Can every filler be dissolved?

Hyaluronidase works only on hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. It has no effect on calcium, PLLA, PMMA, or semi-permanent/permanent fillers, so we confirm which filler you received beforehand.

How much downtime is there?

Mild redness, swelling, or bruising may appear at the injection site and usually settles within 3–5 days. Most people can return to daily life right away, though recovery speed may vary.

Are there side effects?

Can I get new filler right after dissolving?

What is filler dissolving?

Filler dissolving is a procedure that injects hyaluronidase (Hyalase) to break down and reabsorb previously placed hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. If you are unhappy with the shape, if the filler has migrated over time, or if overcorrection has created unnatural volume, it can help return the area close to its original state. Note that hyaluronidase acts only on HA-based fillers and has no effect on calcium- or PLLA-based products.

How it works

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that cleaves the cross-links in hyaluronic acid, breaking large molecules into smaller units. The fragmented HA is then naturally absorbed and cleared by the body, reducing the filler volume. The reaction begins within a few hours, noticeable changes usually appear within 1–3 days, and full absorption can take up to 1–2 weeks. When a large amount of filler is present or the area is wide, the treatment may be divided into several sessions spaced 1–2 weeks apart.

Aftercare

To reduce inflammation, please refrain from excessive drinking, smoking, saunas, and strenuous exercise for one week after the procedure.

Two to three days after the procedure, the treated area may swell more than on the day of the procedure and some bruising may occur, but this subsides within 1-2 weeks.

You may feel a foreign-body sensation after the procedure.

After the procedure, the shape may become deformed due to pressure on the treated area, wearing hats or glasses, facial massage, lifting procedures, sleeping posture, and similar factors. Please be careful not to deform the shape and never touch the area.

To prevent infection and inflammation after the procedure, we prescribe antibiotics. Please be sure to take them according to the medication instructions.

If symptoms such as severe pain, fever, changes in skin color, or blisters appear within a few days, please notify Seye Clinic immediately and visit the clinic.
