How many sessions does it take to see results?

Because hair goes through growth, regression and resting phases, it is difficult to manage all hair in a single session. Generally 6-10 sessions at intervals of about 6-8 weeks are recommended, and results can vary from person to person depending on hair volume and area.

Is the treatment very painful?

Just before each pulse, GentleMax Pro Plus cools the epidermis with a DCD cryogen burst, which lowers pain and irritation. That said, how it feels can vary with the area and individual sensitivity, and a numbing cream can be applied if needed.

Can I have hair removal on tanned skin?

The 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength reduces its effect on surface pigment while reaching deeper, so it can be used on relatively pigmented skin. However, because the energy and wavelength are adjusted to your skin condition, a consultation with our medical team is needed before treatment.

Can I return to daily life right after treatment?

Most people can go about daily activities and shower the same day. Immediately after treatment there may be temporary redness or a mild warm sensation, so it is best to briefly avoid strong UV exposure and saunas.

How long does the treatment take?

It takes about 15-40 minutes depending on the area and size. Broad areas like the chest and back and narrow areas like the shoulders and collarbone can differ in time.

What is GentleMax Pro Plus?

Within a single device it uses both the 755nm alexandrite wavelength and the 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength, acting selectively on the melanin in hair so it can address everything from coarse, dark hair to areas that are harder to manage. Our medical team checks the hair condition and skin tone of each area of the male upper body before selecting the wavelength for treatment.

How it works

When the laser is absorbed by the melanin in the hair, it converts to heat energy that acts selectively on the hair root and follicle, gradually reducing hair growth over a course of sessions. The 755nm alexandrite wavelength has high melanin absorption and responds efficiently to coarse, dark hair, while the 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength reaches relatively deeper, lowers the risk of pigmentation and can be used on tanned skin. In particular, just before each pulse GentleMax Pro Plus uses its DCD (Dynamic Cooling Device) to release a momentary burst of cryogen that protects the epidermis; this cooling reduces surface damage and discomfort, helping treatment stay stable even at higher energy settings.
