What is GentleMax Pro Plus?
GentleMax Pro Plus is a dual-wavelength laser hair removal system made by Candela of the United States. It combines a 755nm Alexandrite wavelength and a 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength, allowing our medical team to alternate wavelengths according to the treatment area and skin condition and to address a range of skin tones and hair textures. The 1064nm wavelength in particular can be used across darker skin tones with a reduced risk of pigmentation.
How the Treatment Works
The light energy emitted by the laser is selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair and follicle and converted into heat, which acts on the hair-producing tissue to inhibit hair growth. Just before each laser pulse, GentleMax Pro Plus uses the DCD (Dynamic Cooling Device) to release a brief burst of cryogen that cools and protects the epidermis, helping to reduce heat stimulation and discomfort. Because hair follows growth, regression and resting phases, several sessions at set intervals are needed to treat hairs during their active growth phase.
