What is Thermage FLX?

Thermage FLX is a 4th-generation monopolar radiofrequency (RF) lifting device developed by Solta Medical (USA). It is a non-invasive treatment that delivers 6.78 MHz RF energy into the dermis to stimulate collagen, and unlike ultrasound (HIFU) devices, Thermage works by radiofrequency. Its AccuREP technology measures the skin's impedance with every shot and automatically adjusts the energy, while the enlarged Total Tip 4.0 improves treatment speed and uniformity compared with previous generations.

How it works

Thermage FLX delivers RF energy into the dermis to heat collagen fibers. The heated collagen contracts immediately for a tightening effect, and at the same time the skin's wound-healing response is activated, producing new collagen over the months that follow. During treatment, the epidermis is cooled and a vibration function is used to reduce the risk of burns and minimize discomfort. Because it is an RF method, it aims to reorganize and regenerate dermal collagen rather than directly targeting the SMAS layer.

FAQ

You may feel warmth and a mild tingling sensation, but FLX has improved cooling and vibration functions, so discomfort tends to be low. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to reduce discomfort. The level of pain may vary from person to person.

Aftercare

After the procedure, you may experience a sensation of heat, redness, tingling, and dryness, which will improve within one week.

Depending on individual differences, you may temporarily experience throbbing, swelling, bruising, or redness of the skin, and depending on skin sensitivity, a sensation of heat or edema may appear. In most cases, these subside within 1-2 weeks.

Please avoid scrubs or exfoliation that irritate the skin. As your skin may feel dry, please moisturize sufficiently.

As dryness may occur after the procedure, please apply moisturizer frequently, and always apply sunscreen when going outdoors.

The results and their duration all vary depending on individual skin elasticity, degree of sagging, skin thickness, and other factors.

If blisters or vesicles develop within 72 hours, please notify Seye Clinic immediately and visit the clinic.

To help the skin retain its warmth after the procedure, please avoid cold compresses, washing your face with cold water, and similar practices.
