What is Dual Toning?
Dual Toning is a combination toning program that uses two lasers with different wavelengths and modes of action in a single session. At Seye Clinic, our medical team pairs 'Lucas,' a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that targets pigment, with the 1064nm 'Genesis' laser, which delivers gentle dermal heating to encourage collagen remodeling. This lets us address pigment concerns such as melasma and spots together with skin texture and redness, working step by step from superficial surface pigment to deeper unevenness in tone.
How It Works
Lucas is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that uses two wavelengths, 532nm and 1064nm, firing short, high-energy pulses on a nanosecond scale (around 100 nanoseconds in toning mode) to selectively break down melanin. The 532nm wavelength acts on superficial pigment such as freckles and spots, while 1064nm reaches deeper pigment like melasma. Genesis then delivers rapid, repeated microsecond pulses at 1064nm to warm the dermis gently; this heat stimulates collagen and elastin while also easing dilated microvessels and redness. Combining pigment breakdown with dermal remodeling lets us manage tone and texture in a more layered way.

Dual Toning at Seye Clinic
Before treatment, our medical team checks your skin condition, the depth of the pigment and the degree of redness, then adjusts the intensity and combination of the Lucas and Genesis lasers. Because pigmented lesions differ in depth and distribution from person to person, we treat gradually over several sessions at 3-4 week intervals, watching how your skin responds, rather than pushing hard in a single visit. After treatment we use a calming mask to settle the heat, and provide home-care guidance such as sun protection and moisturizing.
