The PicoSure Pro is a 755nm alexandrite picosecond laser that breaks pigment particles into fine fragments through a photoacoustic effect, while the Excel V manages vessels and redness using 532nm KTP and 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelengths.
How It Works
The two devices excel at different tasks. The PicoSure Pro delivers ultra-short picosecond (one-trillionth of a second) pulses that shatter melanin with pressure rather than heat (the photoacoustic effect), targeting pigment while limiting thermal impact on surrounding tissue. The Excel V uses its 532nm wavelength for superficial vessels and redness and its 1064nm wavelength for somewhat deeper vessels, addressing flushing and vascular concerns.
