What Is Aptos Thread Lift?

Aptos Thread Lift uses barbed lifting threads from Aptos, a brand dedicated to lifting threads. The absorbable threads used at Seye Clinic are based on poly(L-lactide-co-ฮต-caprolactone) โ€” a copolymer of PLLA and PCL (polycaprolactone) โ€” coated on the surface with hyaluronic acid (HA). These absorbable threads carry CE and Korean MFDS (KFDA) certification; within the Aptos range, U.S. FDA approval applies only to the non-absorbable (polypropylene) threads.

How It Works

Tiny bidirectional barbs along the thread catch sagging skin and soft tissue, physically lifting and anchoring them. Over roughly 6โ€“18 months the thread is gradually absorbed, and during this process collagen forms around it to help sustain the lifting effect. The hyaluronic acid coating provides supplementary hydration and support at the treated area.

Our medical team assesses the degree of sagging and the condition of the tissue, then plans the thread type, insertion direction, and number individually. Through a thorough consultation beforehand, we explain the expected outcome and recovery process; results and how long they last may vary between individuals.

FAQ

It is performed under local anesthesia, so discomfort during the procedure is usually manageable. You may feel some pulling as the thread is inserted and anchored, and pain levels may vary between individuals.

Aftercare

To reduce inflammation, please refrain from excessive drinking, smoking, saunas, and strenuous exercise for one week after the procedure.

Two to three days after the procedure, the treated area may swell more than on the day of the procedure and some bruising may occur, but this subsides within 1-2 weeks.

You may feel a foreign-body sensation after the procedure.

After the procedure, the shape may become deformed due to pressure on the treated area, wearing hats or glasses, facial massage, lifting procedures, sleeping posture, and similar factors. Please be careful not to deform the shape and never touch the area.

To prevent infection and inflammation after the procedure, we prescribe antibiotics. Please be sure to take them according to the medication instructions.

If symptoms such as severe pain, fever, changes in skin color, or blisters appear within a few days, please notify Seye Clinic immediately and visit the clinic.

The effect and duration may both differ depending on each individual's skin condition, volume status, and other factors.

Depending on individual skin elasticity, threads may protrude, become visible through the skin, or cause dimpling. If you inform Seye Clinic and visit us, you can receive the necessary care.

After thread lifting, opening your mouth or making facial expressions may feel awkward. This improves over time.

To prevent the threads from shifting or breaking, please be careful not to open your mouth wide for 4 weeks.
